Input is being blocked - when trying to use Logmein remote control on a remote computer
If you ever run across this its a rare deal. Your trying to remote control another computer with Logmein but everything you do is useless. You click, you press enter and nothing works. Sometimes you see another mouse arrow on the screen slowly moving across. This is caused by a faulty mouse on the computer that you are trying to log into. Work Around/Temporary Fix - When you try to remote the computer. Click on the options button, located on the logmein toolbar on your web browser window. After clicking on options, select lock keyboard by putting a check in the box. This will disable the mouse and keyboard of the computer that you are trying to take remote control of. You should get a message saying that the action completed. Now you can remote control that computer. Remember to replace that mouse at your earliest convenience.
If unplugging the mouse doesnt work, then you want to check the following: First check the firewall on the computer that your trying to log into. You'll need to make sure that you give Logmein the proper permissions to access the internet. You can grant full permissions or just turn the firewall off to see if the firewall is the issue. If your problem stops when you disable the firewall then you need to set the correct configuration for the logmein program in that firewall. If disabling the firewall completely does not work, you should reinstall logmein completely on both computers. On the remote computer you want to go into add remove programs and uninstall logmein completely. Then reboot the computer and reinstall logmein. Then on the computer that your using to login with you should delete the logmein active x control from your web browser. The the next time you try to remote control the computer you will be prompted to reinstall it by the logmein website.
NOTE: these are not the only things that could cause this. This is just a note made to help people who run into these particular situations. Antivirus, Antispyware and any other security programs are known to interfere with remote control programs as well.
